The suggested sliding scale fee is $25 to $90 per training based on the Green Bottle Method. There is one link to purchase tickets for all 3 trainings. Please determine what your sliding scale fee will be, multiply the fee by the number of trainings you intend to attend, and adjust the cost in the payment page. The payment confirmation page will provide you with the Zoom login information used for all 3 trainings. Please take a photo or copy the login information.

5 no-cost spaces are available in each training.

About the Presenters/ Facilitators

Kevin Shone, CADC-II

Kevin Shone (He/Him) is a certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor (CADC-II) who has collaborated in research, developed and supervised an outpatient substance use program, provided staff and community trainings, facilitated multidisciplinary provider consultation groups, and provided direct client care to 2SLGBTQIAP+ individuals beginning in 2002.

Kevin was the sole counselor in the multi-year UCLA-Integrated Substance Abuse Program "Getting Off" research study in West Hollywood, which studied the efficacy of both Contingency Management and a manualized protocol (adapted from the Matrix Model) for gay and bisexual stimulant users. Kevin collaborated in the program development and leadership of the UCSF Alliance Health Project (AHP) Outpatient Harm Reduction Substance Use Disorder (SUD) program. In his role as supervisor at AHP, he facilitated a monthly multidisciplinary provider consultation group for Motivational Interviewing and authored and presented several SUD-related trainings for staff, interns and the community. Working with the AHP Research and Training Department, he co-authored and co-facilitated a series of trainings for clinicians working with San Francisco HIV Health Services. Among the trainings he has presented are Motivational Interviewing (beginning, intermediate and advanced), Harm Reduction, Changing Language to Reduce Stigma, and Crystal Meth 101. He was also a co-presenter and co-author of “Understanding and Supporting LGBTQ+ Individuals Using Methamphetamine” at the 2025 American Society of Addiction Medicine conference. Kevin is a certified Motivational Interviewing trainer registered with the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT).

As a clinical social worker, Charlie Dunkin, LCSW (they/them) has conducted research and provided trainings, clinical consultation, and direct client care since 2016.
